Neflix Cat — Privacy Policy

Overview

Neflix Cat ("the Extension") is developed by Ken Chu ("we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how the Extension handles information when you use it on https://www.netflix.com/browse/my-list.

The Extension is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Netflix. Netflix is a registered trademark of Netflix, Inc.

Summary

• All category and preference data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API.
• We do not operate a backend server that collects your data.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing.
• The Extension only runs on Netflix My List pages that you visit.

Information the Extension processes

Depending on how you use the Extension, the following data may be stored locally on your device:

• Custom categories — names and optional colors you create.
• Video identifiers — Netflix video IDs from titles on your My List page.
• Category assignments — which categories you assign to which videos.
• Video titles — titles read from the Netflix page to display labels in the Extension (cached locally).
• UI preferences — such as edit mode, language (English or Traditional Chinese), and whether the Extension is enabled.

We do not intentionally collect:

• Your Netflix account password or payment information.
• Your full browsing history outside Netflix My List.
• Personally identifiable information such as your name or email through the Extension itself.

How we use information

Locally stored data is used only to:

• Display and filter your My List items by the categories you define.
• Let you edit category assignments on Netflix My List cards.
• Remember your settings (language, edit mode, enabled state) between sessions.
• Export or import your category data when you choose to use those features.

Where data is stored

All Extension data remains on your device in Chrome's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local). Data is not transmitted to our servers because we do not operate collection servers for this Extension.

If you use Export JSON, the file is saved to a location you choose on your device. If you use Import JSON, you select a file from your device. We do not receive those files.

Sharing with third parties

We do not share, sell, or disclose your Extension data to third parties.

Please note:

• Netflix — The Extension reads and modifies the appearance of the Netflix My List page in your browser only. Netflix may collect data under its own privacy policy when you use their service.
• Google / Chrome Web Store — If you install the Extension from the Chrome Web Store, Google's terms and policies apply to the store and browser platform.

Permissions

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

• storage — To save your categories, assignments, and preferences locally on your device.
• Host access to https://www.netflix.com/* — To inject the category UI on Netflix My List and read video card information (such as titles and video IDs) from the page you are viewing.

We do not request broad access to all websites. The content script is limited to Netflix My List URLs.

Your choices

• Disable the Extension — Turn off the system toggle in the Extension popup, or disable/remove the Extension in chrome://extensions.
• Delete your data — Use "Clear All" in the Extension popup to remove categories and assignments, or uninstall the Extension to remove local storage (subject to Chrome's behavior).
• Export a copy — Use "Export JSON" to download your data.

Children

The Extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest version. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
